The first years of life are fundamental for stimulating children's minds. An education that motivates children properly at every stage is a decisive factor in their future. At Happy Way our team of educators and educational psychologists have created a unique and advanced educational project, which has been endorsed by the Generalitat de Catalunya, with the aim of stimulating multiple intelligences from the first moment. Our qualified educators use games, exploration, music and sport to exercise the emotional, intellectual and psycho-motor capacity of each child, while teaching them positive personal habits to develop their self-awareness, confidence, self-esteem and empathy. Our team is made up of:
Qualified classroom tutors: who teach classes based on the school's educational project.
Native English speaking teachers: giving lessons in all classes every day as part of the HAPPY ENGLISH TIME project.
Educational psychologists: the children are assessed every week with the help of the class tutors, and we prepare a quarterly report on the progress made, with guidance offered for parents on request.
Each of the different educational disciplines are combined to ensure that the children develop their capacities to the full in equilibrium in an atmosphere of creativity and free expression, in order to increase their autonomy. We use activities that encourage cooperation, collaboration and companionship in a situation of trust and respect that allows them to explore their new discoveries. We help them develop their personal hygiene and autonomy, to be patient and wait for their turn so they learn to form part of a community that shares values, laying the foundations for the full maturing of their social skills.

Intelligence is neither innate nor unchanging, and through education we can help all children to improve their intellectual capacity. We no longer consider a good academic level to be the only indicator of intelligence, but recognise that there are different areas of intelligence that can help our children to achieve personal and professional success.
Every child has his or her own interests and skills, and a unique way of learning, so it is very important to carry out a specific individual analysis of each child to be able to offer him or her the tools they need to optimise their performance. At the Happy Way school, we offer personalised orientation for each pupil, and we also have a range of visual, audio and tactile media and strategies to stimulate the different types of intelligence that H. Gardner defined in his Theory of Multiple Intelligences:
Language, Mathematics, Logic, Knowledge of the environment, Psycho-motor skills, Music, Art, Social skills
Each pupil has the chance to make the most of the areas which they are more skilled at and to improve those where they do not stand out, so that each can find something that they are good at while at the same time acquiring a series of basic general skills that will help them to face all kinds of situations both in the school and out of it.
Emotional intelligence is one of the areas of intelligence with the greatest influence over our daily lives, and can be vital in order for us to achieve what we set out to do.
We often meet people with great academic capacity but with few resources when it comes to handling their emotions, communicating effectively and socializing well. All of these are skills that are acquired from earliest childhood, which is when the personality of our children begins to develop, establishing the way they learn to achieve what they set out to do, to express themselves and communicate with others. From this moment they will learn to understand themselves and others, and this model of behaviour can accompany them throughout life.
In awareness of the importance of this fact, we at the school work with and offer tools to enable the children to acquire useful and emotionally positive personal habits so that their idea of themselves, their confidence and personal self-esteem and empathy can develop properly.
Young children have an almost unlimited capacity and desire to learn, yet some educational programmes do not take this capacity into account. At Happy Way we have created our own educational project that draws on different pedagogical methods and can respond to this constant demand for information. In our school, children are the active core of everything we do: they explore, experiment and discover. Our job is to give them the ideal environment and all the resources they need, constantly surprise them and accompany them through this process. To this end, we have developed a series of special projects that will let them explore and experiment in different areas:
Happy English Time
There can be no doubt about the value of learning English from an early age. Our educational project is based on different disciplines, and emphasises the learning of English: we learn and practice in English classes, in music workshops, in psychomotor activities and art with our native English speaking teachers.
Music is one of the best ways for children to develop their full potential. It is widely used by both families and educators as a natural way to attract the attention of very young children. From the very first moment, we adjust our voices to make them gentler, more rhythmic, more musical in general and this means reinforcing a healthy link, establishing the universal language of music as a form of communication.
A fascinating journey through space in which the children will learn to observe the universe and to recognise the most important elements in it, such as the Sun, clouds, the Moon and the stars. A very special character will encourage them to carry out a number of activities that will awaken their interest and curiosity about science.
At Happy Way we aim for a global education that includes observing aspects related with nature. Our Nature Project is intended to encourage respect, responsibility, dedication and love for animals and plants. These are essential values if we want our children to develop a complete and healthy relation with nature.
It is important to introduce children to the culture of art in order to encourage the development of their creative talent and to stimulate their imagination. With Happy Miró Time we offer them points of reference using well-known real painters who they can imitate.
La evolución del pensamiento lógico-matemático es esencial para el desarrollo de las funciones cognitivas futuras de nuestros hijos. Nuestro proyecto lógico-matemático tiene por base que cada niño pueda relacionarse de libre e intuitivamente y que interaccione a través del ambiente físico y social.
In our school we are very aware that everyone involved in the "period of familiarization with the infant school" has to be equally committed; the boys and girls themselves, the family, their reference tutors and all the other adults in the school, because it is the first time that many of the youngest ones will be away from their family environment, in new places with new adults who have to become figures of reference and safety.
The first days are the most intense experience for everyone concerned. We have to work hand in hand with the families in what will be the starting point for a new consensual group project that has to start in an atmosphere of trust and full involvement on both sides to ensure that the young ones can adapt smoothly. We use communication as the main tool for exchanging knowledge, helping us at the school and the family to establish the rules to enable the familiarization period to run smoothly.
How we handle this first stage at our school:
We have individual conversations with the family to learn the details we need (what, when and how) about each child in the class. We can then anticipate and recognise what can happen and solve any issues successfully.
This stage has been long planned, debated and discussed to ensure that the spaces, materials and organizational resources are appropriate to achieve our objective, which is to create a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere of respect, where we can look after each of their needs and help them make the transition from home to school.
Thanks to our prior planning, we can focus on the job of ensuring each child takes his or her tutor as a reference, creating an emotional link which, while not as strong as those of the parents, is solid enough to help them feel safe in their time at the school.
While our organization enables us to offer each child in our classes the attention he or she needs, the individual conversation with the family will enable us to respect the customs of each family and forge a bond with the children more quickly. We will have time later to offer our attention service related with the educational project, which will always be agreed with the family in question.

Show that you are relaxed and confident, but be warm and comprehensive. Tell them how happy you are about the place where they will go, explaining what they will be doing there, repeatedly telling them that they will have fun there, that there are lots of other children to play with, and that you will go to pick them up, and they will have a positive attitude to the change.
We advise you to show interest in what they do at school, listen and praise their "work", and ask them questions.
